Welcome to CAWL

Calvert Animal Welfare League (CAWL) in Calvert County, Maryland, is an all-volunteer animal rescue and education organization. We operate a state-of-the-art pet adoption and education center that provides a friendly , caring environment to promote the adoption of homeless dogs and cats until they are adopted. Serving Calvert County since 1992, CAWL places hundreds of dogs and cats in new homes each year. As a 100% community-supported animal adoption and education center, we depend on the generous support of the community. CAWL is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and a No-Kill Animal Rescue Organization.

If you are interested in seeing any of our animals NOT on a normal Adoption Day you can call 410-535-9300 and leave a message. One of our Cat or Dog Adoption Counselor will call you to schedule an appointment. Include your name and number, which dog or cat your interested in.
